From Sept. 2: 2020 Season Opener – Week 1

We are 8 days away from Game 1 of the 2020 NFL season.
The World Champion KC Chiefs will be home taking on the visiting Houston Texans.
We like KC, even though the line is 9 ½. You may be asking yourself, “With that big of a line, why go out for KC?” Here’s why.
The Chiefs are home and there will be about 18,000 fans to cheer them on. As far as Head Coaches go, Andy Reid out coaches Bill O’Brian by miles. Coaching alone is worth 3 points. Home stadium with fans is another 3. Last year in the divisional playoffs, the Chiefs made 3 mistakes in the first quarter that cost them 21 points and came back to win 51 to 31. We watched the game a 2nd time and saw a blown coverage for 7 points, a blocked punt for 7 more and a dropped punt return for the final 7. To be down by 21 and finish up by 21 speaks volumes.
The Texans traded DeAndre Hopkins (one of the best receivers in the NFL) who caught 9 balls for 118 yards in last year’s game and, simply put, the Texans do not match up on offense. The Chiefs are returning 20 to 22 starters. The key players all got huge contracts, as well as both the head coach and general manager getting 5 year extensions.
Andy Reid has always been in awe of Bill Belichick and the Patriots. With this current roster being led by his newly minted Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes, Reid now has the foundation to form his own dynasty. The team will be ready.
We have bought 1 1/2 points and laying -140 to win 100. We like the game even more at – 8.
