From September 2: Week 1 – A Gift

For the 2025 opener, we have the Super Bowl Champs playing at home against a division rival who has already conceded this season before it has even started. The Cowboys traded their superstar player on defense, Micah Parsons, one week(!) before the start of the season.
In 2024, Week 10, the Cowboys were home in Dallas and were crushed by the Eagles 34 – 6. In their Week 17 rematch, the Eagles got mean and won 41 – 7.
The Cowboys are on a rebuild, and the Eagles are coming off a Super Bowl win. The game opened up at – 7 and has jumped to – 7 ½ after the Micah trade. Psychologically, the Cowboys are a mess. One can only imagine what the players are possibly thinking as they travel to Philadelphia with their best player on defense traded one week(!) before the start of the season and their owner trying to justify the move, all the while getting to know their new Head Coach.
On paper, the game should be a blowout. Last year the Cowboys were 7 – 10 and the Eagles flew high at 14 – 3. Game 1 in Philadelphia feels like a big win, but we’re buying down the game to – 6 and going in with a good size bet.
We like Philadelphia at home to win around 34 – 10.
We don’t just pick a game. We tell you why one team is set to win, and the other is not.
