The first Sunday of the regular season is providing us with two picks, one for today and one for the season. Starting with the Browns-Jaguars matchup, there are 8 reasons to bet on Jacksonville tomorrow.

1. Last season, Jacksonville finished at 13 – 4 compared to Cleveland’s record of 5 – 12.
2. The Jaguars were 7 – 2 at home, compared with the Browns being 2 – 6 on the road.
3. The Jags were also 10 – 2 in their conference, compared to the 4 – 8 Browns.
4. Last year, the Jags finished the regular season by winning their last 8 games. The Browns finished their season with a 3 – 5 record for their last 8 games.
5. The Brownies had the 2nd worst offense in the league, scoring 279 points in the regular season. They were better than the Raiders (241) yet no better than the Titans (284).
6. The Cleveland Browns have a new Head Coach. Given the state of the team, it’s too early for him, his staff, and the players to all be on the same page.
7. The QB for Cleveland will be Deshaun Watson. To put it mildly, he’s a polarizing figure for both the city of Cleveland and his team’s locker room.
8. When kickoff happens at 1:00 pm, the weather is going to be about 91 degrees (feel like 96).

The line on the game is Jacksonville – 8 ½. The Jags will be difficult to beat at home. We suggest you buy them down to 7 and step out with a good size bet.

Our next pick is a futures bet on the over and under of total wins on a team for the regular season. We are going with an under of 4 ½ games on the Miami Dolphins. The Fins have a new GM and Head coach. They traded / dumped / gave away Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Bradley Chubb. Miami has a brutal schedule and are now stockpiling picks for the 2027 draft. Among the team’s many issues, they desperately need a QB. We don’t see them winning more than 3 games this year.
