Each week, the betting lines on good teams get higher and higher. It’s almost like a dare to take the points and root for the underdog. This season the good teams are winning early and the sportsbooks are crying the blues. This week there are four games between teams we can classify as good and those which are simply awful.
The Giants are up in Buffalo to play the Bills, with the line being – 14 ½. Right off the wire, Giants QB Daniel Jones is out with a bad neck which means Tyrod Taylor will be at the helm. Tyrod’s career as a starter is 26 – 25 – 1, meaning Sunday night could be a long night for him. The Giants are the 2nd worst team in scoring with only 62 points scored this year. On the other side of the ball, they’re the 4th worst team in points allowed. Buffalo has to keep pace with their division’s current leader, the Dolphins. We are going with the Bills over an awful Giant squad at 1 – 4. You’ll need to buy 1 or 1 ½ points to be at – 13.
Speaking of Miami, the Dolphins are home against the 0 – 5 Panthers. If we include the preseason games, Carolina’s really 0 – 8, right behind the Giants with the 5th worst defense and are having a tough time scoring points this season. Miami is too fast for them and have superior talent on both sides of the ball. The weather will be in the high 80s with a strong 70%+ chance of humidity in the 70s. To say Sunday will be warm is an understatement. The line is Miami – 13 ½ and, again, we think it’s a bit high.
Lastly, San Francisco will be in Cleveland and the line has the 49ers as the -9 ½ point favorite. This line is on the move and we expect it to go to 10 ½ by game time. Watson is out at QB and we see the 49ers rolling to 6 – 0. We are going to buy 1 ½ points and bet them straight up. Cleveland has an excellent defense and matches up well. However, we don’t see Cleveland scoring many points here. The 49ers are too strong.
Take these three really good teams and go with a three team, 10 point teaser.
We are going with the teaser and making a straight up bet on Buffalo at home.
