From September 26: Week 3 – The Good, Bad and Ugly

This week, most of the 32 teams are mostly banged up. We have already lost about 10% of the starting QBs. This Sunday we have two strong games to play.

The first is KC at Miami. The game starts at 1:00 and the weather will not be a factor. It has been raining daily down south, cooling off the humidity. It will be 85 degrees at game time, with acceptable humidity. The Chiefs will not take this game lightly. They have games on the road this season against Buffalo, Seattle, and the Rams. Andy knows that all these games against weaker teams should be won to get the #1 seed. It will be all business tomorrow against a team that is not playing so hard to win, rather to get the #1 draft choice next year. The line is – 10 ½. We say buy the game down to – 9 and lay – 125.

The second game is a good one in New Orleans. It’s their home opener against the Raiders. The Saints are 1 – 1 against two really good teams. In Week 1, they lost in Detroit 31 – 30, then went on to win 24 – 17 in Baltimore. Now they come home to the loudest stadium in the league against a team that beat twp of the worst teams, the Dolphins and the Chargers. The Saints have an edge here. The line is – 3 ½. We are going to buy the game down to -2 and send it in. Being home in New Orleans for this game is worth a few points.

In our articles, you will read that we sometimes buy points to move the line. It’s our way of telling the books: your betting line is too high. There are just too many games where we win or lose by that ½ of a point.
