From October 4: Week 5- The Good, Bad, and Ugly

Tomorrow, we find out just how good the Colts and Cardinals are, and how bad the Raiders and Titans are. Our first game is in Indiana, where the Colts host the Raiders. Indy is the hot team. They might be the best play of the day. The offense is averaging over 30 points a game. They are home and hungry. Las Vegas’ QB Brock Bowers has a bad knee and is questionable. The Raiders have managed to score 77 points in their first four games. They have lost their last three and now face the hottest team in the NFL on the road. The line is – 7 and we think it’s worth buying the game down to – 6. At home, Indy now becomes much more than an average bet.

Our next game is in Arizona between the Cardinals and the Titans. Arizona is 2 – 2. Their losses were on the road to the 49ers by 1 point and home against the Seahawks by 3. They now get the worst team in the NFL, and the line is – 7 ½. The Cardinals are a better team, but we hate that extra ½ point after a touchdown. We prefer them at – 6. Buy the game down because it’s Week 5. Weeks 2 to 5 are adjustment weeks where every team works on finessing their timing and continuity.
