From September 13: Entering Weeks 2 and 3

Over the years, we have won in the Preseason and Week 1. For the Week 2 and 3 games, you have to allow for several upsets. We simply don’t have enough data to identify all 32 teams.

This week it is safe to say, a team playing at home against one of the less talented teams of 2024 should be a good bet. In this case we are going with Arizona at home against Carolina. This will be the first home game for the Cardinals after coming off a win in New Orleans. Carolina lost in Jacksonville. They are favored to win by 6 ½. This game is a great game to buy 1 point to be under 2 field goals – 5 ½, or think about a 7 point teaser.

Our 2nd game is going to be the Broncos vs the Colts. Denver won by 8 last week at home despite having 4 turnovers. We had them at – 7 ½ as posted. The Bronco team has one of the best defenses in the league. We watched David Jones play with the Giants and Colts and feel he will not have time to throw down field. He should have 1 or 2 turnovers. The betting line is Denver – 2 ½. Use it in your teaser and be + 4 ½, or bet the Broncos straight up to win.

Our personal play will be to buy the Arizona game down to – 5 1/2.
