From October 16: Week 6 – The UK Jags

Our weekend starts in the UK where the designated home team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, host the Houston Texans in a divisional game. The Jaguars are the better team; they finished last season with a strong record of eight consistent wins and are currently leading the AFC division with a record of 4 – 1. Quietly, they have become the league’s 2nd best defensive team. They have only allowed 70 points across the last five games. Trevor Lawrence and his offense are playing well and should go into their next week bye at 5 – 1.

Houston’s record is 1 – 4; the team has been flat and injury ridden since Week 1. C.J. Stroud has regressed at QB, and the team still has injured starters. This game against the Jaguars is a must win for the Texans. Otherwise, they run the risk of being behind three games. Jacksonville is favored by 2 ½ points. You might want to buy 1 point or look at the money line. With Jacksonville as the home team, Wembley Stadium will be packed with Jag supporters.

Next up are the Chiefs at home hosting the 0 – 5 LA Chargers. This season’s Chargers are a mess. They have a new offensive coordinator, former Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel. His playbook is apparently too complicated, as Justin Herbert is having issues adjusting to the new plays. Additionally, the numerous injuries on this team have affected the quality of their play on the field. The Chiefs are coming off a bye and Andy Reid has a winning lifetime record of 22 – 5. He also has a well-rested 5 – 0 team. The Line is very high at -8. This could be a great time to buy the game down to 6 ½ or buy a teaser with the above Jacksonville game or this Monday night’s game with the 49ers.

We love the 49ers on Monday night. They are a perfect 5 – 0. Kyle Shanahan is 20 – 4 coaching on Monday Night Football. The 49ers are home against the 1-3-1 Commanders. The 49ers offense is loaded with weapons and are playing at a different level. Washington has been awful on the field, and the side lines. Their head coach, is on the hot seat. The Line is 7 ½. Buy the game down to -7.
